Your Turning 65 Medicare Game Plan
Turning 65: know your next step
The mail can wait a moment. Let’s start with your dates, your care, and the questions that actually belong to your situation.

Try the enrollment timeline first ↓
Four questions. A clearer starting point.
- 01
Timing
Are you new to Medicare, automatically enrolled, or covered by current employment?
- 02
Care
Keep a doctor, explore someone new, or decide what you want in your care?
- 03
Prescriptions
What should be checked privately against the exact plan and pharmacy?
- 04
Budget
What are the monthly premiums and the costs when you use care?
Do you have a doctor you want to keep, or would you like help exploring someone new?
The care you already value matters. So does having room to consider a change.
When you are open to a change, Douglas can help you explore physicians he knows through professional relationships. Your preferences come first. Plan participation and appointment availability must be checked with the plan and practice.
A starting point, not an intake form
- Keep my current doctor
- I am open to a change
- Help me explore a doctor
- I am not sure yet
No doctor name or medical history is required here. We do not automatically send your information to practices or referral partners. A relationship is not a guarantee of clinical quality or coverage.
Put your enrollment window on the calendar.
Seven months is the general starting point. Your situation sets the next questions.
For most people first eligible at 65: three months before the eligibility month, that month, and three months after. A birthday on the first moves this window one month earlier.
Official source: rrb.govThis is not a coverage-effective-date calculator. Your enrollment date, current employment, automatic enrollment and other eligibility circumstances matter.

A conversation with a purpose.
- 01
Start with your situation
Name the decision you are facing and what you want to protect.
- 02
Work through the tradeoffs
Separate what is known from what needs verification. Plan-specific discussions follow the appropriate appointment process.
- 03
Know the next step
Identify the action, the person responsible and the questions still open.
Less to remember. More to work with.
This proposed summary format shows how a Medicare conversation can be organized. Public guides are available without an appointment. Tailored summaries and plan-specific materials require the approved consultation workflow.

A sample conversation summary
- Priority
- Understand whether current job coverage changes enrollment timing.
- Verified / unresolved
- General timing rules reviewed. Employer coordination and doctor participation remain unverified.
- Next action / owner
- Visitor: request written answers from the benefits administrator. Douglas: review those answers before discussing a coverage pathway.
- Follow-up
- Agree on a next conversation after the open questions are checked. No plan recommendation is shown.
A name. A face. A direct conversation.

Douglas Corona
Owner, Corona Health & Wealth
Based in Southern California, Douglas works in English and Spanish. The starting point is understanding your question, not choosing a product for you before you arrive.
Meet DouglasQuestions worth asking.
Do I need to know which plan I want?
No. Begin with your timing, doctor preferences, prescriptions and budget questions. Use an approved private process for detailed information, not a website message.
Can you guarantee I can keep my doctor?
No. Exact plan participation, location and appointment availability must be verified. Doctor preference is a starting point, not a coverage promise.
What about a plan you do not represent?
Douglas does not represent Kaiser or IEHP and cannot offer every plan. A plan outside his representation may still be appropriate to consider. Check directly with that plan, Medicare.gov or SHIP.
Are the guides tied to buying coverage?
No. The public guides and tools are available without buying insurance or booking an appointment. Using a tool does not give permission for marketing or information sharing.
Your questions are a good place to start.
